I have Lived in Lea County for the past 13 years. I relate to this region due to previous jobs. I have worked in several different services in Hobbs, from fast food, to being a substitute teacher, and in customer service as a manager at Verizon. I have met many great people and families along the years, surprisingly one of the families I met along the way receives services with MECA and I have been there to get them the help they need.
What brought me to have a passion for helping families and kids is the fact that many people do not know or understand the resources we can provide to the community and often struggle to find help for the children. I myself come from a Hispanic household were my parents did not even know what therapy could do to help someone other than to think of it as if something was wrong and would be made fun of from family or others, where in reality therapy is to help you better yourself as an individual, not mattering in the area of concern you are receiving help from.
My Goal is to be able to assist families to understanding the importance of receiving help and to let them know that they are not alone while they are in our program. We take them under our wings and are with them every step of the way. I want the community to know who we are and what we do.
