welcome to the enchantment state

When people from other states think of New Mexico, one picture often comes to mind: a vast, endless desert, and not much else. The truth is, New Mexico is one of the country’s hidden gems, with an endless combination of sunny days, green forests, rich history, eclectic culture, and new adventures. On top of that, the low cost of living and wealth of opportunity make it easy for young professionals to plant roots in their new home.

Still don’t believe it? Read on to learn what makes The Enchantment State so charming.

White Sands National Monument

One of the world’s greatest natural wonders is found in the close-knit community of Doña Ana County, which also happens to be where MECA Therapies operates out of. Stretching over 224 square miles, White Sands offers a stunning and other-worldly view that can’t be found anywhere else in the country. Enjoy traversing the crisp white sands in the heart of the Tularosa Basin, take a sled down the snowy slopes, enjoy backcountry camping or horseback riding, and let your adventurous spirit roam free.

Santa Fe

The capital of the Enchantment State and one of the largest cities in New Mexico, Santa Fe offers a rich history and vibrant culture unlike any other. Original founded by Spanish colonists in 1610, Santa Fe is the oldest state capital in the country, with historic adobe “pueblos” and ancient architecture lining the city and famous old town of Taos. Stop by this eclectic town on your New Mexico adventure to step back in time, and see how the old culture mixes with the new in the form of visual arts, dance, opera, and live music.

Carlsbad Cavern National Park

Nestled in the sandy Chihuahuan Desert lies an underground world just waiting to be explored. The Carlsbad Caverns are a massive labyrinth of 119+ caves hidden in Ruidoso, New Mexico, with endless passages and corners to explore for yourself. Take a self-guided tour to let yourself get lost in the wonder of the caverns, or sign up for a ranger-led exploration into the deeper, more narrow passages to really get a taste of adventure. Above ground, enjoy camping at the local grounds near the Guadalupe Mountains, view a star watching party at nightfall, take a desert trail hike, and even watch the nightly Bat Flight Program after a long day of exploring.
